Aluminum windows in morn architecture
Information

Colors that complete architecture.

RAL · Fine structure

Morn colors with tangible depth.

All RAL tones shown are shown as a matte fine structure. Click on a color to better assess grain, depth and effect in the large view.

Important: Screen colors are for orientation only. Only approved original samples on aluminum are binding.

Eloxal · Metallic

The character of the aluminum remains visible.

Eloxal surfaces live from their metallic depth. Alloy, pretreatment, gloss and angle of view influence the effect – therefore an object-specific reference pattern is particularly important.

Metallic effectVariable depending on the light

Note: Eloxal color names and system codes may vary by manufacturer. Color uniformity should be assessed via a defined reference pattern.

Surfaces in comparison

RAL or Eloxal – what is the difference?

Both processes protect and design aluminum, but produce their effect in completely different ways.

RAL

powder coating

A coloured powder is applied to the pretreated profile and baked. The covering coating hides the metallic substrate.

  • Very large, defined color selection
  • Matt, fine structure or glossy, possible
  • Inside and outside differently designed
  • Uniform, opaque color
ELOXAL

Anodized oxide layer

The aluminum surface is electrochemically converted into a hard, fine-pored oxide layer. No covering foreign layer is applied.

  • Metallic material character is retained
  • Hard and abrasion-resistant surface
  • Color effect depending on alloy and pretreatment
  • Typical tones from nature to bronze and black
Coast and salt pollution

Why pre-anodization near the sea is important.

Salt-containing air deposits chlorides on profiles, joints and edges. Together with moisture, powder-coated components increase the risk of corrosion migrating under the coating – so-called filiform corrosion.

During pre-anodization, a thin, controlled oxide layer is produced before powder coating. This additional pretreatment improves the corrosion reserve and significantly reduces the risk of filiform corrosion.

Our planning recommendationIn coastal areas, high salt concentration, swimming pools or road salts, clarify the exposure class early and specify a quality-assured pretreatment according to QUALICOAT SEASIDE or PRE-OX project-specific.
  • Evaluate distance to sea, wind direction and local salt pollution
  • Drainage, edges and structural details corrosion-friendly planning
  • Include coating company and system suppliers before ordering
  • Plan regular cleaning of salt deposits

Viewing the facade

Roof, plaster, stone, wood and sun protection together form the color world of the building.

Consider light

The same pattern works differently in sun, shadow, interior light and from different angles.

Procedures to be followed

RAL fine structure appears opaque and calm, Eloxal preserves depth and metallic character.

Release original samples

Always make the final decision on the basis of a real coated or anodized aluminum sample.
